Mission Viejo, CA (April 19, 2012) – Holt Integrated Circuits, a world leader in data bus IC’s for the avionics and military industries, today announced compliance of its RS-485 transceiver family, HI-4850, with the EMI/EMC requirements of RTCA/DO-160G, Section 21, Category P and the lightning requirements of RTCA/DO-160G, Section 22, Level 3 and 4 Pin Injection Test Waveform Set A (3 & 4), Set B (3 & 5A) and Set Z (3 & 5B). The RTCA/DO-160G specification provides a standardized test methodology which is accepted in the avionics industry as the gold standard for environmental testing of airborne equipment. Compliance ensures Holt devices operate reliably in a broad variety of applications with tough environmental requirements such as avionics and industrial control.

The RS-485/422 family offers customers a broad range of unique features such as extended common mode range and targeted slew rate control. The HI-4850 operates half duplex whereas the HI‑4851 and HI-4852 provide full duplex operation. Multiple package options are offered, including industry standard SO-8 pinouts. The HI-4852 is available in a compact 4mm x 4mm QFN-16 package.
