The HI-5201 is a single supply 10Base-T/100Base-TX physical layer transceiver, which provides an RMII interface to transmit and receive data. It does not require a 50MHz system clock and uses a 25MHz crystal/clock input to generate a 50MHz RMII reference clock output to the MAC.
HP Auto MDI/MDI-X provides the most robust solution for eliminating the need to differentiate between crossover and straight-through cables. An optional interrupt pin provides status updates to the external controller, avoiding the need for continuous polling.
The device is capable of enhanced (−40oC to +105oC) and extended(−55oC to +125oC) operating temperature ranges, with optional burn-in available in the extended temperature version.
